Ronnie, my uncle Ronnie.
My first memory of you, starts from fathers day. With Katie and I, attempting to cook (or lack of cooking) a bacon sandwich which at the time we didn't notice was raw. You joined me once, on a photography expedition which proceeded in a police chase, whereby I was asked to delete the photographs of a power plant we had found. You later told me, that you understood why I enjoyed taking photographs so much.. for the thrill of the chase!
You drove me and mum all the way to Glasgow. A boot filled with pots and pans, to settle me into my halls of residence. You put your hand on my shoulder, and told me that I had a lot to say for myself, that I could do it. And so, I did do it and 4 years later you joined me at my graduation. I over heard you once, talking to a friend on the boat at Carol's 60th birthday party. Sharing who I was and where I was going to university. I felt very proud that you were proud of my hard work.
I have grown up without a farther Ronnie. However; the ways in which I saw you care and support my cousin, act as a devoted husband, brother, uncle and friend. Set the standard for me, as to what good really looks like.
You were a fountain of knowledge. The centre of a good family party. Advice giver for times I felt stuck.
Much like our beloved nan, Olive. I know your legacy will live on through us all. I will make sure Olive has a vivid memory of you.
